How a run goes

Four moments, a few minutes.

  1. Gameplay: choosing a weapon from three cards – Laser Lance, Grenade Launcher, Soul Scythe.

  2. Gameplay: level 2 – three cards to pick from while the world stands still.

    Level up.

    Grab the blue shards. At every level the world freezes and you take one of three cards.

  3. Gameplay: the Butcher attacks in wave 5 as the horde wades through a lake.

    Outlast the boss.

    One shows up every five waves. There are eight.

Every weapon levels up to 12. On top of that, there are cards in five rarities – from Common to Mastery.

And once in a long while, a comet falls.

Does Dead Run cost anything?

No. Dead Run is free, has no ads, and there’s nothing to buy with real money.

Do I need to install anything or sign up?

No. Dead Run runs right in your browser, on your phone or your computer. One tap or click on “Play now” and you’re playing as a guest. You need to be 16 or older.

How do I control it?

You only control movement. On a phone, put your thumb anywhere on the field and drag; on a computer, use WASD or the arrow keys. Your weapon aims and fires by itself. The game is played in portrait.

Can I play with friends?

Yes, up to four in the same run. Open a room and send the link; whoever opens it joins without signing up.

What happens to my progress?

As a guest, your game lives in this browser. If you don’t come back for 14 days, it’s deleted. If you want your name on the daily list and to keep your progress, create an account after a run – the game will offer it.

How long does a run take?

Usually a few minutes. A new wave arrives every 20 seconds, each harder than the last. How far you get is down to you and your build.
